Over the May bank holiday weekend, 23 of Malvern's wells, springs, troughs and spouts were decorated and entered into the 2004 well dressing competition organised by the Malvern Spa Association. They were decorated during the daytime on Friday 30th April and then judged in the evening. They then were left decorated for the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend for everyone to see. These 23 panoramas were taken during the Friday evening and Saturday morning.

The results of the competition were as follows,

• The Overall Winner (Open Section) - Lower Wyche
• Highly Commended (Open Section) - Temperance Drinking Fountain
• First Prize for Groups of 3 or less - Earl Beauchamp
• Runner-Up for Groups of 3 or less - Evendine
• First Prize in Childrens Group - Westminster Bank
• Runner-Up in Childrens Group - Wyche Spout
